AHEC Gathers for 2023 ‘Aha Nā Kai ‘Ewalu

The Association of Hawaiian Evangelical Churches (AHEC) gathered for their Annual Meeting, called the ‘Aha Nā Kai ‘Ewalu, on Friday, June 9th at Kāne‘ohe Congregational Church where AHEC Papa Makua Wendell Davis is the Kahu.

This historic Hawaiian church is in discussion with AHEC to rejoin the Association and Conference that a previous generation left decades ago.

Highlights of the one-day event were the opening Worship Service and Hō‘ike with Papa Makua Wendell Davis leading in worship and preaching a message titled "Who You?" to focus on our identity as being spiritual royalty in King Jesus. The AHEC business meeting passed the proposed budget, elected the officers, and closed with a blessing in prayer for the AHEC General Synod 2023 delegates, Wendell Davis and Josann Jenks.

AHEC is very grateful for our wonderful hosts at Kāne‘ohe Congregational Church who did a spectacular job of hospitality!
